Can you imagine a world without
soap?
It would be a very dirty place,
wouldn’t it?
Do you know when or how soap was
discovered?
An ancient roman legend gave soap
its name; the legend said rain on mount sapo washed wood ashes and melted
animal fat into a river.
The soapy mixture helped clean
people’s clothing and skin.
People called the mixture soap
because it came from mount sapo (it’s a fictional mountain supposed to exist
somewhere near Rome, presumably in Italy).
