While practicing Yoga the instructor asks you to close your
eyes and he/she dim out the light in the room, helping our body to relax.
Likewise, before we go to sleep, we turn off the light in
our bed -room, we relax and then fall asleep.
Thus, we can expect that when light intensity increases, we
are less relaxed and our pulse increases accordingly.
In order to verify our hypothesis we ask you to conduct the
Between 08.00 am to 16 pm (choose one of your regular days,
not a stressful one) follow the following instructions:
1. Enter a dark room and measure light intensity using the
following Light meter application. That value will be noted as A1.
2. Sit in the dark room for 3 minutes and then measure your pulse, first manually and immediately after using the following Heart rate plus application. The manual value will be noted as B1 and the application- value will be noted as C1.
3. Turn on the lights and open the shades (try to avoid excessive
noise) and measure light intensity using Light meter application. That
value will be noted as A2.
4. Sit down in the bright room for another 3 minutes and then
measure your pulse, first manually and immediately after using the Heat rate
plus application. The manual value will be noted as B2 and the
application- value will be noted as C2.
